The Fabulous Season 1 Episode No 3 Recap And Review
Woo-min and Ji-eun go into a corner to hide, and because of their closeness, Ji-eun pecks Woo-min's lips, indicating that they should meet. As Woo-min is too stunned to speak, Ji-eun says he was just joking. Woo-min hesitates for a minute at first, but then pulls Ji-eun back and kisses her, agreeing to meet her. Seon-ho, Joseph, and other attendees notice the new couple and start cheering for them in the middle of the street.
Present Ji-eun is in the car with Woo-min, as well as Joseph, Seon-ho and her new beau Kang-woo, as they listen to music in the car away from the successful Audrey-Rublani event. The next morning, Joseph hears from the manufacturers that the exclusive diamond-studded bag he designed is not very cost-effective for an inexperienced brand like him.
Joseph is heartbroken at first, but his mother, Mrs. Jung, doesn't think it's a bad thing. He asks Joseph to continue producing a high-end product. Ester clarifies that the product can be sold at a high price for the production cost and comes up with the idea of a pop-up shop to sell the triple bags in large numbers.
Woo-min's first day on the job happens to be a shoot for Rublani, where he takes photos of VIPs, including Nam-jin. Woo-min and Nam-jin are left to their own devices after their boss praises him for taking amazing pictures of Nam-jin. They discuss her breakup with Ji-eun, and Nam-jin claims that he now realizes how much she means to him. He’s determined to get her back, and Woo-min claims that he should apologize for what he said to Ji-eun when they broke up.
Nam-jin thanks Woo-min for his advice and hopes that Woo-min will support him in his efforts to win Ji-eun back, but the photographer politely declines the offer and walks away. In the show, Nam-hee talks to Ji-sun about a famous designer named Theirry Henry visiting South Korea in the near future. He recommends Ms. Oh as the ideal VIP to receive him.
Nam-hee visits Mrs. Oh and Ji-eun and informs them that they will be in charge of hosting and entertaining a French-Korean designer when he visits the country to buy a custom suit. During the meeting, Ji-eun tells her three friends how worried she is about interacting with the designer. He tells them that Theirry Henry does not want to be seen or recognized by anyone. Joseph claims that the designer was actually a very kind person.
Meanwhile, in his own little world, Woo-min dwells on his interaction with Nam-hee as they ride the elevator together. Nam-hee asked the photographer for his designs and followed him on Instagram and asked Woo-min to enter a street photography contest for The Q.
Afterwards, Seon-ho has lunch with his representative, Mr. Gang. He informs the model that a VIP client has filed a complaint against Seon-ho for her behavior. She chides him for being angry lately, and Seon-ho orders champagne from his manager to soak up the lectures. Meanwhile, Ji-eun is at the airport to meet Thierry Henry with Mrs. Oh, who doesn't get a memo and is dressed all in pink.
A simple man with a small appearance - Theirry Henry sees Mrs. Oh greeting him and shouts out inquiringly. He grabs Ji-eun, who is in a relatively less fancy outfit, and runs away from Mrs. Oh. Nam-hee calls Mrs. Oh to check on Theirry Henry and tells Mrs. Oh that the designer hates the color pink, which usually bothers her.
In the car, Theirry tries his best to make small talk with Ji-eun, but fails miserably. On the other hand, Woo-min spends the day walking around the city and taking photos to display in the show that Nam-hee asked him to.
The next morning, Ji-eun visits Woo-min and asks him to act as a driver to accompany her on a trip with Theirry Henry. When he decides to show the designer South Korea, he dresses Woo-min in a black suit. However, Woo-min is confused when Ji-eun and Theirry take him to the train station.
Irri is dressed in a completely unsuspecting outfit with a scarf covering her head and a dust mask covering her face with sunglasses. Woo-min wonders why the designer did that, as it draws more attention to him rather than masking him in the crowd.
The designer decides to follow the man on which mission, along with Ji-eun and Woo-min, to take them to Cheongnyangni Station. There, he tries tteokbokki for the first time, which is just like his photo. Woo-min and Ji-eun force Irri to take a bite of Korean street food, but it's too spicy for her, causing the man to run away back to the train station.
The duo follows as Irri pulls another photo out of her pocket to match the train. A boy who is late for the train collides with the constructor and runs past him. Irri seems to recognize the man as she continues to follow him in slow motion.
Ji-eun and Woo-min arrive, guessing something is wrong with Theirry running away from them and heading in the direction of the train. Meanwhile, Joseph shows off his bag to Seon-ho, who likes the design at first. The model tries to motivate him to do the work because "Yusif doesn't give up" he conveys his hard work.
Seon-ho returns to his old agency, where he learns that the company represents influencers rather than models like him based on their popularity on the internet. In addition, Seon-ho was blacklisted by the company.
At the end of their day, Theirry invites Ji-ein and Woo-min to go out to the dinner he's prepared for Nam-hee instead. Since the designer can't eat spicy Korean food, he enjoys the food through photos of food sent by Ji-eun and Woo-min. At dinner, Woo-min asks Ji-eun about her feelings for Nam-jin. She tells Woo-min that she still thinks of her ex as a good person.
Woo-min promises to fight Nam-jin if he hurts him. Outside the restaurant, the two run into Nam-jin by chance. He asks to speak to Ji-eun in private, and after a little pissing contest between Woo-min and Nam-jin, Ji-eun asks Woo-min to take off while he talks to Nam-jin. During the conversation, Nam-jin asks Ji-eun to think about his feelings for her and apologizes for how he broke up with her.
As Ji-eun considers Nam-jin's feelings, Woo-min thinks about his feelings for Ji-eun while drinking alcohol at his house. When Ji-eun returns to her house, she looks at a photography book as she too is deep in thought. The next day, Joseph looks at the models to walk with his luxury bags, but none of the male models match him.
He shortlists a female model, and before he can stop the audition, Do-young shows up and models a bag that Joseph designed. The designer is delighted with Do-young's turn, and Esther immediately takes the hint and casts him as a model for her show.
On the second day with Theirry, Ji-eun and Woo-min try to guess what the designer did by following the pattern of revisiting places in their old photos. They assume he's here to revisit old memories, but Theirry seems emotional inside the old train station. After Ji-eun tries to question him, Theirry loudly announces his identity.
A large group begins to rush him to photograph the designer, but Woo-min and Ji-eun are unable to save him. Theirry sobs after breaking free from the crowd as Ji-eun and Woo-min try to calm him down. Ji-eun tells Mrs. Oh that she is worried about Theirry and asks that she be sent back to Paris. Mrs. Oh tells her that Theirry is not in town looking for her mother, but for a costume designer named Cha Vincent. @@ Ji-eun and Woo-min arrive at Cha Vincent's store and buy a new suit for Woo-min. Ji-eun tries to ask Vincent about his career as a European-trained costume designer. Vincent claims that he is closing his shop because the custom suits are no longer in demand, and Woo-min will be his last customer. Ji-eun hands over Vincent's business card.
Ji-eun shows Theirry the magazine and tells him that the costume shop will be closing soon, urging him to hurry to see Vincent, but Theirry gives him a letter to read. The letter is from Vincent to Theirry, in which the costume designer shares his experiences in Korea with a Parisian designer.
Vincent asks his girlfriend Iriri to experience South Korea like him, so the designer went to different places with her arrival. They visit Vincent and ask for a custom-made suit. Vincent asks Theirry to retrieve it manually, as it requires a specially designed suit to be worn.
Joseph and Esther are brainstorming ideas for a pop-up shop when they suddenly have the idea to take on the business. She will be providing free bags with her designs at the pop-up shop so that more people can enjoy the show. This is what happens when more and more people visit Mr. Joseph's pop-up shop.
Ji-eun is happy for Joseph, but wonders why Woo-min isn't there. Seon-ho tells him that it was a big day for Woo-min, but Nam-jin arrived with Thierry without asking any more questions. The designer is no longer mad about the color pink and dons a hot pink suit as she poses for photos outside her pop-up with Joseph.
They model the bag and praise Yusif for its design. Meanwhile, Woo-min shows Nam-hee his pictures, and she compliments him on his work and takes photos with him. Ji-eun and Nam-jin chat as they leave Joseph's pop-up shop space, and he asks her to take him back. Ji-eun is still thinking about answering his question.
Woo-min wears a suit made by Vincent and matches it with the tie Ji-eu bought him for their first anniversary. Seon-ho takes Ji-eun back to the pop-up shop and leaves her there with an excuse. Woo-min arrives at the venue and confesses that he wants to meet Ji-eun again.
Ji-eun suddenly becomes emotional and remembers accepting Nam-ji's feelings moments ago. She starts crying and lashes out at Woo-min for messing with her. He tells her they'll be better off as strangers and walks away.
Episode Review
This episode was chaotic from start to finish, and I blame Woo-min for making him wait too long before confessing his feelings for Ji-eun. It's clear he's always loved her, but I'm sure the two will find their way together. The show makes Seon-ho's character boring compared to the other friends, and I'm not happy with that part of the story.
There really should be more Do-young and Joseph scenes because these two together are a riot. Nam-jin seems like a typical good guy, but I hate that he has to lose Ji-eun to realize how much she needs him.
Woo-min is kind of like Nam-jin, but his character is more likeable because he cares more about Ji-eu's happiness than his own. Phew, we'll definitely know who gets Ji-eun before another half of the show.
