Lucky Lakshman New Movie Review

Bigg Boss Telugu fame Syed Sohel Ryan new movie Lucky Lakshman released today. Let's see how the movie is.

  Story:

Lakshman (Syed Sohel Ryan) is a middle class student who falls in love with his college friend Shriya (Mokksha), a rich but simple girl. She leaves her poor father for not doing anything for him and takes care of Shriya Lakshmana. Unfortunately, they are separated due to one issue. He gets rich in a short time and changes a lot. One day he comes to know about Shriya's bad phase. What happened to Shriya? What did Lakshman do next? Did they get back together? The main movie has all the answers.

  Extra Points:

Sohel of Bigg Boss fame is decent in his role. His subtle performance as an average person looks good. In addition, he has great comedic timing and good dancing skills. All in all, she leads the entire film with her performance alone.

Hero Mokksha looks good and his decent performance is one of the best things to mention. The rest of the actors do their best in the given roles.

The story is simple and easily predictable. But director AR Abhi narrates the usual story by placing some decent comedy scenes and succeeds in making the film a watchable fare.

  Negative points:

Audiences have seen such stories for centuries. Director AR Abhi, who has written the film, tries to play it safe and opts for the usual rom-com template. The emotional scenes at the climax are extremely dramatic. Overall, the story is good, but not great.

On the other hand, there are some unnecessary characters in the movie and it seems that they are shown just to kill screen time. A crisper script would have made Lucky Lakshman a better film. Also, the director could have written better dialogues.

  Technical Aspects:

As mentioned above, Abhi opts for a standard rom-com template and tries to narrate it nicely. He succeeds to some extent in this regard. Music director Anup Rubens' music isn't that impressive, nor is Andrew's cinematography. Production values are decent. Some scenes had to be cut in the second half to make the movie look better.

  Verdict:

All in all, Lucky Lakshman is a typical romantic comedy drama that only works in parts. Sohel and Mokksha's performances are decent. Some comedy scenes are laughable. If you're okay with a story you've seen hundreds of times before, you might want to give it a watch this weekend.
