Trolley Korean Web Series Season 1 Episode No 6 Recap And Review

Episode Recap

Episode 6 of Trolley begins as three panelists for different parties wrap up their debate on the Digital Crimes Act at City Council. Joong-do is forced to bite his tongue and swallow his pride as the situation turns to the topic of troubled kids. Of course, given Ji-hoon's history, Joong-do has to put up with it until the conversation is over.

Ki-young then calls Joong-do and invites him to Youngsan. This, of course, coincides with Hye-ju's appearance, but it's all a big misunderstanding and not (as many of us predicted) Seung-hee's intervention.

Seung-hee talks to her husband about Joong-don's relationship with Hye-joo, and it turns out to be a big coincidence. They go to dinner together, but of course everything is incredibly tense and awkward. Seung-hee makes some harsh remarks about Hye-joo's past, even openly calling her Jae-eun in front of Joong-don. He finally explains that the most painful experience in life is losing a loved one—all the while staring daggers at Hye-joo.

After paying for the meal, Seung-hee tells Joong-do that she would like to visit the National Assembly. After that, he takes Hye-ju to the bathroom and explains that she and her husband have a lot in common, considering they both killed someone. Seung-hee decides to take revenge and tells Hye-joo that she needs to apologize for Seung-ho's death. He told her to kneel before her mother and apologize.

In flashbacks, we see Seung-hee trying to set Hye-joo up with her brother at school, always bossing her around. He also goes on to admit that he did it for selfish reasons. Even back then, Yoo-shi was overshadowed by his mother, who sympathized with him, not to mention how he got into SNU Law School. Seung-hee is convinced that after Seung-ho's death, Hye-joo framed him to get her tuition money.

Back in the present, Hye-joo is shaken after her conversation with Seung-hee and tries to put on a brave face. Four ways, Joong-do confidently tells Ki-young that he won't let him be part of Hye-joo's political campaign and that he wants to keep it that way.

On the way home, Hye-joo gets a text from Seung-hee, telling her to meet at their old house in the afternoon. When Ki-young finds out what his wife is planning, he asks her if she's sure Hye-ju is wrong. Seung-hee is sure, and it comes from a conversation between Seung-ho and Seung-hee in the past.

There we see Seung-ho's side of the story, where he claims he was framed by Hye-joo. He essentially makes her believe in him, weaponizing the bonds of brotherhood. To make matters worse, Yoo-shin also lies (lies run in the family!) and claims that Hye-joo scolded Seung-ho and did it all because she wanted to go to university.

Back at home, Joong-do talks to Soo-bin and asks if he can take responsibility. "You're a talker." He answers. Joong-do remains silent, but this little exchange reinforces the fact that Ji-hoon did not impregnate him. I'm still in favor of him being Joong-do. In her room, Soo-bin angrily tries to remove the JB tattoo on her hip.

Joong-do sees numerous flyers outside and immediately checks the dashcam footage. These coincide with Joong-do's printed face and the words "Joong-do is a killer." Of course, Hye-joo thinks it's Seung-hee, but it's actually Seung-kye's father.

Hye-joo's planned apology coincides with Yo-shi leaving to look at the property, so Seung-hee has to change the time to 3:30 p.m. While this is going on, Joong-do has Woo-jae investigate Hye-joo's connection to Seung-hee and the past. He should know now as a protective measure. Apparently he's doing it as a husband, not as an Assemblyman, but it's really hard to tell.

Soo-bin goes to the women's clinic and asks about getting an abortion. Only he follows Yeo-Jin, who is on another floor. As they leave together, the news manages to get the details of the adult video that was leaked, and unfortunately, our grieving grandmother overhears.

Instead of calling Joong-do, he calls Hye-joo, who soon learns that the videos have been deleted. Unfortunately, he cannot go to the grieving grandmother.

It's 3.30pm and Hye-joo chooses to show up at Seung-hee's place. She sees the temple for Seung-ho and is told not to cry. But a sudden bump from behind indicates that the car has crashed. The doorbell rings constantly. It's Joong-do, and he looks absolutely furious.

  Episode Review

Business is picking up now, and it looks like Joong-do knows exactly what happened in front of the Orphanage in the past. Earlier in the episode, we saw Woo-jae talking to the nun, who I would imagine might have witnessed the attack by Seung-ho. Following this, Joong-do shows up, apparently to confront Seung-hee and demand an explanation as to why he scared his wife. Anyway, that's my theory.

The whole Soo-bin situation is still simmering in the background, and not much is happening with it. I think her use as a bargaining chip by Seung-hee will be to get Joong-don out of the way and stall his campaign since he's an Assemblyman again.

This was another solid episode for a K-drama that has flown surprisingly under the radar for many people. It doesn't really grab the audience's attention, but it's certainly a good watch, and there's a pressure cooker situation here that looks set to explode in future episodes. Continue next week!
