Aishwarya Rajesh New Tamil Movie Driver Jamuna Review
Aishwarya Rajesh is one of the promising stars of the Tamil film industry. With solid projects in her kitty, she has proven her mettle as an actress with her choice of films. With a film about a woman taxi driver like Driver Jamuna, the expectations around the film are quite high. Will the driver deliver to Jamuna?
Jamuna (Aishwarya Rajesh) is a taxi driver and has gone after her murdered father. He was also a driver. One day, three criminals who are about to commit a noisy murder take him for a drive through the app. Will Jamuna find out about the criminals? Will the criminals successfully carry out the murder? The answers to these questions are revealed in less than two hours.
Driver Jamun starts on a promising note. We are introduced to the world of Jamuna, her sick mother, her brother who ran away from home and her aunt who thinks that driving is not a woman's job. One day, he goes on a ride where he rides in the cab of three assassins. Unfortunately, that's where the good parts end. What follows is a story full of logical fallacies.
Kinslin, director of Vathikuchi, directed Driver Jamuna. Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role is mind boggling at times. Because you cannot understand that such glaring gaps do not escape the attention of the team. There are killers and there are police officers at all possible checkpoints to catch them. However, the proceedings make you question who is stupid - the killers or the police. Towards the end, you come to the conclusion that the joke is on you.
In an important scene, Aishwarya acts like Rajesh Anniyan. But the police officer is so blind that he doesn't even catch the clue. Many scenes are rushed and leave you scratching your head more than once.
However, it is the last part that is returned. Here all the plot points come together and give the story a believable ending. The climax stretch is quite predictable and lacks emotional connection.
Aishwarya Rajesh as taxi driver Jamuna gave a neat performance in the film. So did supporting actors Aadukalam Naren, Sriranjini, Manikanta and Kavitha Bharathi. Driver Jamuna had brilliant cinematography by Gokul Benoy.
Driver Jamuna could have been more intense and interesting if the directors had spent more time on the screenplay.
